The Board of Directors of the Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District met for a special meeting in the Edgewood Board Room, on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. Board President Matt Elliot called the meeting to order at 7:30 a.m.
Directors Present: Matt Elliot, Tammy Kirby-via phone, Jeff Hoeger-via phone, & Brad Bockenstedt-via phone.
Directors Absent: Dan Venteicher.
Also present: Superintendent Kim Huckstadt, HS Principal Dawn Voss and District Administrative Assistant Barbara Bolsinger
Director Kirby moved to approve the agenda as presented. Director Bockenstedt seconded the movement. Motion carried 4-0.
Principal Voss welcomed everyone and asked if they all had a chance to look at the links for both the 25-26 DCAP plan and the DCAP RPP evaluation from the 24-25 plan.
Voss discussed the goals from the 24-25 school year and how the district worked to achieve the goals. Goal attainment was determined through communication with parents and students, supporting students in job shadow placements, and following a plan of career exploration.
The evaluation results from the 24-25 plan was shared discussing what was changed and improved for the implementation of the 25-26 plan. Some highlights were getting outside people involved, implementing a self reflection piece for students, and presenting information to the board before June each year.
New goals for 25-26 were highlighted from the plan as well as the reasoning behind each goal. Voss highlighted a couple data pieces used. Navigator Kuder lessons and 4-year plan creation was described as well as an overview of the schedule students follow throughout the year.
Next steps are to self assess our 25-26 plan and prepare for next year. Time was allowed for suggestions and questions from the board.
Director Kirby moved to approve the 2025-2026 District Career and Academic Plan. Director Bockenstedt seconded the movement. Motion carried 4-0.
With no further business to come before the board for consideration at this time, Director Hoeger moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:39 a.m. Director Bockenstedt seconded the movement. Motion Carried 4-0.
