Minutes-2025.06.05-Special Meeting

The Board of Directors of the Edgewood-Colesburg Community School District met for a special meeting in the Edgewood Board Room, on Thursday, June 5, 2025. Board President Matt Elliot called the meeting to order at 8:59 a.m.

Directors Present: Matt Elliot, Tammy Kirby, Jeff Hoeger, Brad Bockenstedt, & Dan Venteicher.

Also present: Superintendent Kim Huckstadt, District Administrative Assistant Barbara Bolsinger, Troy Osterhaus 

Director Venteicher moved to approve the agenda as presented. Director Bockenstedt seconded the movement. Motion carried 5-0. 

 The Board entered into Closed Session to interview and evaluate the professional competency of two individuals whose appointment, hiring, performance or discharge is being considered when a closed session is necessary to prevent needless and irreparable injury to that individual's reputation and that individual requests a closed session per Iowa Code 21.5(1) (i).

Director Hoeger moved to enter into closed session. Director Kirby seconded the movement. The roll was called, and the vote was:

Closed session was entered at 9:00am

Director Venteicher moved to exit the closed session. Director Kirby seconded the movement. The roll was called, and the vote was:

Closed Session was exited at 9:52am

Director Kirby moved to enter into closed session. Director Bockenstedt seconded the movement. The roll was called, and the vote was:

Closed session was entered at 10:18am

Director Hoeger moved to exit the closed session. Director Kirby seconded the movement. The roll was called, and the vote was:

Closed Session was exited at 12:18pm

With no further business to come before the board for consideration at this time, Director Kirby moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:18 p.m. Director Hoeger seconded the movement. Motion Carried 5-0.
